Lawrenceburg Speedway 5-1505/16/2010
Racing last Saturday at Lawrenceburg Speedway was going to be interesting. After losing an engine last week, Memmer Racing rolled out the 2010 DRC that replaced the trashed car from Twin Cities. It already had an engine in it and ready to go, so it was decided to use it. Hot laps were conservative.... feeling out the new car. John said it had a lot more left in it... and was ready for the heat. After starting sixth in the heat, John got to fourth on the start and was in that position when after 4 laps the car just stopped. Changing the box and coil wires proved no help.... fuel pump was fine, and after a teardown at the shop Sunday the problem was a bad mag. The night was over before it got going. Memmer racing will return to action at Lawrenceburg this coming Saturday for the KISS show. Special thanks to Don Short who was going to loan us their spare mag. With the time needed to do the job right it was felt that it was not worth the risk to the engine is something was done too quickly. Thanks Don!

Lawrenceburg Speedway Recap from 5-805/09/2010
Saturday had Memmer Racing at the 3/8 mile highbanks of the Burg for the first night of racing in 3 weeks... thanks to Mother Nature. After drawing for 4th in the second heat, when the green flag flew, John shot straight to the lead and never looked back... winning the heat by about half a lap! The redraw ofter the heats had a starting position of sixth for the feature. The feature was a tough race for many folks.... turn 3 was a bit treacherous in places and there were 3 cars flipping, THANKFULLY no one hurt. After holding down 6th at the green, passing a few cars and having some luck with cars ahead having trouble, Memmer ended up finishing second. However, this is of little consolation as the motor began laying down coming for the white flag..... then coming apart off 4 necessitating shutting it down, taking it out of gear and coasting across the finish line. The prognosis this morning was the bottom end of the motor broke.... thus eliminating a planned trip to Eldora on Wednesday. Memmer racing will be back in action this coming Saturday at Lawrenceburg Speedway.

USAC racing at Lawrenceburg04/18/2010
Saturday night had Memmer racing in competition for the USAC race at Lawrenceburg. Getting this car to handle like the old one was an issue, but the culprit was soon discovered. The front axle was the issue... so a quick fix was tried to get thru the night. In hot laps the car was ok but not what John wanted. After timing in 18th of 27 cars, the team went to work making the car better yet with some bandaiding that could be done at the track. After starting inside of row 2, John held on to the transfer spot in the feature, 5th. USAC rules have you fall back on your qualifying time for eh feature, so this put Memmer Racing starting inside of row 9 in the 22 car feature. After the green flag flew, the car was still a bit off. The quick fixes made the car better but still not what it should be. After falling down a lap to the leaders, John did the right thing and pulled off rather than risk tearing up anything. The official finishing position was 22nd. Memmer Racing will be competing next at Lawrenceburg on the 24th.

Lawrenceburg racep04/11/2010
Lawrenceburg Speedway was the site of the return of Memmer Racing after a tough first night outing 2 weeks ago. This is a place John likes real well and along with the team was really looking forward to returning to race there. How did our night go??? Hot laps went fine... the car was close.... and after a few adjustments went into the heat race optimistic. Racing against Robert Ballou and Brady Short, John held his own... starting third.... almost had the lead on the initial start.... held onto third to make the transfer to the feature. After starting 11th, John passed some cars... had a few pass him.... ultimately coming home in 9th position. Not the result the team was looking for, but for the first night out with a new car and learning some things, was glad to load it up in one piece. Other teams had difficulty taming the 3/8ths mile high banks, bending up equipment.... so loading it up intact was a small victory in itself. Things will only improve from here!!! For those of you who stopped by to chat with us.. thank you for coming to watch the races and saying hi! Tshirts are back in stock and for sale... so please stop by the trailer and pick some up when you are in the pits! Next race will be put up in the next few days. We look forward to seeing YOU at the races!!!

Twin Cities Raceway recap03/21/2010
The racing season got underway yesterday in Vernon, IN at Twin Cities Raceway. Hot laps proved frustrating because the car was not right. After adjustments were made to the car, John started fifth in the heat, finishing sixth and making the transfer to the feature. In the feature John was steadily making progress through the field after starting 17th. The night came to an end after contact with an inside tire on the track sent the Memmer Racing sprinter into a series of flips. John is OK..... the car, well that is a different story. The next race for Memmer Racing will be determined this week. After assessing the damage and getting repairs done the decision will be made as to which race will be next on the schedule. We will have pictures up from yesterday by Sunday evening. Please check them out! Have a great week and we will update you soon on coming events!!!
