More Good Runs08/31/2009
This past weekend JMR drove to Vernon, IN to Twinn Cities Raceway Park. John particuarly like the race track over there and was looking foreward to racing there for their last sprint show of the year. John started his heat race in the fifth position and finished second which put him starting fourth in the feature event. After multiple tries at a start they finaly stayed green. John didnt get the best of start and fell back to the sixth position at the end of lap one. John slowly but surely picked each car off one by one until he worked himself up to the second spot, by this time the leader Casey Shuman had a sizeable lead. John started chipping away at Shuman's lead lap after lap and got arround him with three to go but a yellow came out and John had to relinquish the spot back. After the feild went back green John never got another opertunity to challenge the leader again and came home second. this comming weekend JMR will be traveling to the lightening fast Lawrenceburg Speedway for some good ole' Saturday night short track racing. All of us here hope you have a safe and fun holiday weekend and we hope to see you at the race track soon.

Not A Bad Weekend08/11/2009
John Memmer Racing onece again skiped Fridays events at Bloomington so instead JMR woke up brightand early Saturday morning to go to the famed Lawrenceburg Speedway. John won his heat race from the third possistion and started the feature from the pole. Brady Short took the lead from John from the start of the race and pulled out to a sizeable lead, as the leader hit lap traffic John started to real him back in but John burnt the right rear tire off the car in traffic and had the settle for second. Sunday JMR made the long 15 minute drive to Chandler Motorspeedway in Chandler, IN. John started fourth in his heat race and won. John there fore started the tail of the qualifier and won that as well. Because John had the most passing points he started on the pole again. Once the green flag droped John never looked back leading all twenty laps on the way to his first sprint car victory. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and hope to see you all soon. This weekend JMR is undecided where to race on Saturday but will return Sunday to Vermilion County Speedway for the first welcome race for JMR back at the track in six weeks. Close But No Cigar06/24/2009
JMR took this past Friday off do to fact that John received food poisoning the previous evening. Saturday morning John and the entire team were ready to go to the fabulous Lawrenceburg Speedway. The team arrived at Lawrenceburg early that evening and had the car ready to go, so John and another member of the crew decided to go have some stress free fun at others expense at the go kart track next door. After that was over we got down to business. John started the pole of his heat race and won comfortably, because of that result John started 2nd in the feature. As the green flag waved John rocketed out to a commanding lead and would lead the first laps of the race. All was looking great until lap 14 when Robert Ballou put a slide job on John and as a result John fell back to second. After that Chad Boat and John traded slide jobs back and forth for the next several laps with John prevailing and holding the second place spot where he would finish for the night. John was happy with the result but yet disappointed because yet again the first victory alluded him. Next on the schedule is Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, I, this Saturday night. Hope to see you all there.

Illinois Sprint Week06/17/2009
This past week John Memmer Racing toured the state of Illinois in chase of the Inaugural Illinois Sprint Week Title. The sprint week started Tuesday and continued at a different venue each night until the final Sunday at Shep’s Speedway. The first night of ISW was in Danville at Vermilion County Speedway. John enjoys racing there and has had success there already this year. For that evening the sprint cars qualified, John qualified 16th and started the feature in 11th. John raced his way up through the field and finished a respectable 6th place. On Wednesday JMR traveled west to Spoon River Raceway in Canton. The evenings festivities again kicked off with qualifying where john timed in 8th quick. John then started the feature in 8th and had a strong run finishing in the 2nd position. Spoon River was without a doubt John’s favorite track through out ISW. Jacksonville was next on the schedule, but mother nature halted all hopes of getting the show in for the night. Friday was off to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City. John started 2nd in his heat and won. As a result of passing points john started 4th in the feature event. JMR totally missed the setup on the car and fell back to 10th the worst finish of the week. Saturday JMR traveled back north to Lincoln Speedway. John started 3rd and finished 3rd in his heat race. John started 9th in the feature and was up to 5th before jumping the cushion and hitting the wall creating a puncture in the right rear tire, John came home in the 8th position. By this time john had slipped back to 3rd place in points. The last night of ISW was at Shep’s Speedway in Alexandria. Again they qualified and John qualified 7th, won his heat race after crashing and getting out of his car with 4 laps to go. Finished 2nd in the dash, starting 2nd in the feature and finishing 3rd. John finished 3rd in ISW points and had a great time along with the rest of the team. This weekend JMR will be back to the normal schedule. Bloomington Speedway Friday and Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday.

TRI-STATE SPEEDWAY06/03/2009
After last weekends racing at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. It has been a dream for John since he was little to run a wing show at the famed half mile. John Memmer Racing has decided not to race with MSCS this weekend and focus on the upcomming Illinois Sprint Week that starts this comming Tuesday at Vermillion County Speedway. If JMR does race anywhere this weekend it will be at Bloomington Speedway on Friday, but again that is not for sure yet. So for the first time in 3 years JMR will not be racing at Tri-State Speedway. We would hope to see abunch of people out suporting the Inagural Illinois Sprint Week with 6 races in 6 days. Check back next week for more of JMR's latest racing news

A Run of Bad Luck05/20/2009
The past two weekends for the John Memmer Racing Team have not been the best for them. At Tri-State Speedway John was chasing the race track all night long and never could get a handle on the race car. John did make the feature but came home in a disapionting 13th place finish. The fallowing weekend John Memmer Racing went back to Danville, IL where John was fresh off a top 5 finish. The car was quick in hot laps but because problems with the flagman in the beginning of the heat race John was unable to finish and had a tore up race car as a result. This next weekend John and the entire team will be heading to Bloomington Speedway on Friday, Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, and Tri-State Speedway on Sunday. But because of prior obligations John will not be racing at Terre Haute Action Track on Thursday. On behalf of the whole team we look foreward to seeing you this weekend.
